Importance of an Orphanage
When Jesus told His followers to let the children come to Him, He was showing how much He cares for children. He was also showing how much God loves children. (Matthew 19:13-15) Children are precious to God. They are a blessing and are full of potential. God makes it clear, through the Bible that we are to love and care for children, bringing them up to become the adults God intends them to be. Sharing the Bible with children is key to raising them to know God. Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court. Psalm 127:3-5
Hence, Haiti has long been one of the poorest nations on earth with thousands and thousands of orphans seeking food and shelter each day. The devastating earthquake of 2010 created an approximate 200,000 orphans in just a matter of seconds. Nevertheless, an orphanage will be extremely important in Bois-Leger, for this town experienced a great deal of financial hardships and violence. The most devastating effects on orphans children were seen in that town after January, 12, 2010, 7.0 earthquake that claimed hundreds of thousands of lives, and diseases so there are many more orphaning children across this town; consequently, we, under the umbrella of Restoration Church of God, Inc. intend to build this orphanage which will be responsible for providing children with shelter, food, clothing, and a good education.
